Through Ministerial Agreement No. MDT-2023-175, issued on December 15, 2023, the Ministry of Labour set the Unified Basic Salary (SBU) for 2024 at USD 460, effective January 1, 2024.
The Ministry explains that the 2.23% increase is directly proportional to the inflation projected for 2024 by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
It is important to remember that the SBU is the basis for calculating labour-related social benefits (such as the fourteenth salary, overtime and holiday pay, severance, among others). Therefore, internal calculation adjustments must be made accordingly within each company.
